373 - What is the guideline for a Med Info booth included within the footprint of a commercial booth at conferences?
-
You’ll want to refer to the Innovative Medicines Canada code for best practices relating to activities at conferences. With regards to PAAB (and Health Canada policies such as the Distinction Between Advertising and Other Activities), it is important to keep Med Info separate from drug advertising (as med info may contain off-label content). The simple act of calling a booth “med info” does not necessarily exempt it from the provisions of drug advertising. For instance, linking med info to product promotion can render the med info subject to the advertising provisions. I am unsure how you’d avoid such linkage if the med info booth is within the footprint of a commercial booth for products. You may want to consider making the med info booth within the foot print of a corporate booth which is separate and distinct from booths relating to product promotion.
