Forum Update: Supporting Community-Led Discussion
The forum was created as a space for shared learning and peer support, and as the community grows, we want to lean more fully into that purpose.
Going forward, PAAB will be taking a more listening-first role in forum discussions. Rather than responding immediately to every question, we’ll be encouraging members to engage with one another, share experiences, and help build collective understanding. PAAB will continue to monitor conversations and will step in to:
- Correct any misunderstandings
- Provide guidance when questions remain unanswered after a few days
- Support discussions where official clarification is needed
Our goal is to foster a collaborative, trusted community where knowledge is shared and strengthened by everyone’s contributions.
Thank you for being part of the conversation.

We are looking into building a website in which consumers are able to purchase veterinary medicine for their pets. I have seen other websites display the manufacturer photos of the products on consumer facing websites that include product name, dosage/quantity, form (tablet or topical), and pictures of the species in which the drug is intended (example attached). Would these kinds of images be compliant with PAAB code, as it is not an advertisement, but rather a catalog?

Good morning @tbalzarini
It is acceptable to have the product name, dosage strengths/quantity, form, and a picture of the species which the drug is indicated in provided the picture does not allude to the therapeutic use (e.g., magnified ticks on a dog).
The images uploaded cross into advertising with the inclusion of the product class (i.e. Immunomodulator (Janus Kinase Inhibitor)) and the identification of use which appears in the second set of images (images down the right side for various pests/worms). When pack shots contain copy which exceeds name, price, and quantity, this copy should be blurred to prevent advertising to the general public.
We have not provided an exhaustive review of the provided ads as not all copy is legible.
