Forum Update: Supporting Community-Led Discussion
The forum was created as a space for shared learning and peer support, and as the community grows, we want to lean more fully into that purpose.
Going forward, PAAB will be taking a more listening-first role in forum discussions. Rather than responding immediately to every question, we’ll be encouraging members to engage with one another, share experiences, and help build collective understanding. PAAB will continue to monitor conversations and will step in to:
- Correct any misunderstandings
- Provide guidance when questions remain unanswered after a few days
- Support discussions where official clarification is needed
Our goal is to foster a collaborative, trusted community where knowledge is shared and strengthened by everyone’s contributions.
Thank you for being part of the conversation.
333 - I was wondering where I could find information on pharma companies referring a patient to a specialist on their website or a third party website.

I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that you are referring to help seeking announcements. I.e. A piece asking consumers who have a particular medical disorder to consult a physician for discussion of treatment, or call a 1-800 number or visit a website. If so, I direct you to the following link. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/advert-publicit/pol/actv_promo_vs_info-eng.php Such piece should not identify specific drugs. The drug manufacturer may not be identified either. Visit the link for the rest of the requirements relating to this sort of piece.
