Forum Update: Supporting Community-Led Discussion

The forum was created as a space for shared learning and peer support, and as the community grows, we want to lean more fully into that purpose.

Going forward, PAAB will be taking a more listening-first role in forum discussions. Rather than responding immediately to every question, we’ll be encouraging members to engage with one another, share experiences, and help build collective understanding. PAAB will continue to monitor conversations and will step in to:

  • Correct any misunderstandings
  • Provide guidance when questions remain unanswered after a few days
  • Support discussions where official clarification is needed

Our goal is to foster a collaborative, trusted community where knowledge is shared and strengthened by everyone’s contributions.

Thank you for being part of the conversation.

    Hello @Manufacturer and @Agency

With the implementation of Law 25 in Quebec on September 22, 2023, PAAB is aware that there will be updates that need to occur to approved websites which are accessed in the province of Quebec. If the sponsor plans to apply a standard pop-up across all sites with the same copy and functionality regardless of website content, PAAB can provide a one-time courtesy review as an FYI. Moving forward, sites which apply the regulations outlined in Law 25 will not require separation into separate files when restricted to the content required to meet the spirit of the law, however the copy should be included within the copy deck (and example images within the layout) so that the reviewer may ensure that no aspects contravene the PAAB Code (e.g., unsubstantiated claims). Where the exact copy is not available to the sponsor (third-party site with no influence) we will request an attestation confirming that the cookies pop-up contains no service or product branding elements (e.g., colours, logos, font), or claims such as corporate claims, therapeutic mention, or links to therapeutic use of a health product. It should also confirm that the copy is restricted to the information required to meet the spirit of Law 25.

Please feel free to post questions below.
    Thank you
